This morning, we took a scenic drive around Lake Bonney and stumbled upon a fascinating piece of history—the Ruins of Lake Bonney Hotel, located on the northern edge of the lake. The sight of these ruins was both intriguing and evocative, offering a glimpse into the past of this beautiful region.
The Old Hotel and Residence
The Lake Bonney Hotel, originally built in 1859 by William Parnell, was a significant landmark during its time1. Napper continued to operate the hotel until the 1880s, when he returned to the site to run it as an accommodation place once more1.
